Peter has been the coach of the Telopea Amateur Swimming Club since 1975. He is an Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (ASCTA) Level 3 coach and a tutor coach for NSW Swimming. Peter has also been the coach for several NSW Swimming squads which have toured overseas including, most recently, the NSW Touring Team to New Zealand in 2001. He has coached at several training camps for Australian Swimming and was a coaching member of the Australian Oceania Team to Noumea in 1993 and the Australian World Cup Team to Hong Kong and Beijing in 1994. Peter is currently the President of the NSW Branch of ASCTA, holding a position on the Board of NSW Swimming. Peter was awarded Telstra Swimmers with a Disability Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2000. In November 2000, he was awarded ACT Academy of Sport Coach of the Year. In February 2001, Peter was awarded the Australian Sports Medal for significant contribution to swimming. 2001 continued to be a busy year for Peter as Head Coach of the NSW Sharks Squads as well as Head Coach of the NSW Cultural Exchange Team to Darmstadt, Germany. Peter was again appointed Head Coach of the NSW Sharks Squad in 2002, as well as Head Coach of the 2004 Target Squad. Most recently, Peter facilitated and was Head Coach of the Speedo Sharks Camp in August. |
