The QT Swimming club was formed in early 2014 as the competitive swimming arm of the Telopea Swim Club and the Queanbeyan Leagues Swimming Club. The formation of QT Swimming is not a merger of two clubs; both Telopea and Queanbeyan Swim clubs are preserved. QT Swimming allows for swimmers from the two clubs, who train together, to also swim together competitively.
Competitive swimmers firstly join either Telopea Swim Club or Queanbeyan Leagues Swimming Club, and are then transferred to QT Swimming as a 'first claim' member while retaining 'second claim' membership with their original club.
